Services Provided: To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. United Way is a network of volunteers that disburse funds to non profit organizations. UWCSEC facilitates a 2-1-1 hot line to provide referrals to health and humans services in Eddy County. We also host Heat NM. Residents can go to the United Way office to get assistance with their NM Gas bill.

Services Provided: The Emergency Food and Shelter Program EFSP supplements and expands the work of local social service agencies to help people with economic not disaster-related emergencies. In San Juan County, a Local Board governs the EFSP. During fiscal year 2007-2008, funding will help to provide more than 1,236 meals in mass feeding at the Daily Bread, provide nutritious food supplement through Catholic Charities and food at the Foodbank, over 5,900 nights of shelter, and over hundreds of families can be helped with rent and utility assistance.
