Description: Programs that offer a form of therapy which uses music and music-related activities to address the physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals with mental, physical or developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, chronic health conditions or other problems. Music therapists assess emotional well-being, physical health, social functioning, communication abilities, and cognitive skills through musical responses; and design music sessions for individuals and groups based on client needs. Services Provided: Mandy's Farm helps individuals to explore opportunities to advance their employment, education, life skills, health, and well-being.Our services are designed to help individuals identify, develop, and achieve their goals. We provide both residential and day program services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our program offers access to all of our amenities spread across three sites, including our fully-operational barn and horsemanship classes, therapeutic pool, orchard, cold frame greenhouses, arts center Appaloosa Art Space, and organic garden.In addition to workshops and daily activities that take place on site, our Day Services program focuses on offering community access in which clients are able to form meaningful relationships in the community. Clients take part in service learning, fitness classes, visual arts projects, farmer's market sales, and extensive recreational activities that offer opportunities for building life skills and new experiences shopping, visiting restaurants, viewing work in local galleries, hosting community art events and workshops, exploring museums, etc..Mandy's Farm values the Employment First principle, and strongly values the belief that everyone can work. We see Day Services as an opportunity to identify individual's skills and interests in order to develop integrated work in the community. Services Provided: The Arc of New Mexico provides information about developmental disabilities services in New Mexico, including the DD waiver and Mi Via. The Arc can direct individuals to services and programs for adults, families and children, benefits, need for and alternatives to guardianship, trusts and life time future planning, self-advocacy, self-direction and self-determination. The Arc of New Mexico provides guardianship services to persons with developmental disabilities who live in New Mexico and have no family or friends to provide support. A staff of professional guardians is available to assist individuals with developmental disabilities with decision-making.The Arc of New Mexico provides advocacy, information about a wide range of topics related to developmental disabilities. Services Provided: MECA Therapies provides early intervention services for infants and young children up to 3 years of age who have developmental delays or who are at risk for developing delays. Our program is family-centered, meaning we work with parents and caregivers to help your child do everything he or she should be doing at his or her age.Our professionals at MECA Therapies Early Childhood Program offer knowledge and support to families who have children with or at risk for developmental delays. Qualifying criteria includes:A developmental delay, which is a day of at least 25% in any one of the developmental areasA biological/medical risk, such as prematurity, seizures, or chronic ear infectionAn environmental risk, including factors such as abuse or domestic violenceAn established condition, such as Down Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy
