AT devices include manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, scooters, canes, crutches, walkers, shower chairs, toilet seats, Hoyer lifts, hospital beds, communication devices, recreational devices, visual equipment, and hearing equipment. Through the website www.backinuse.com individuals request usable equipment and those with equipment can donate. The cost of necessities like wheelchairs, are out of reach for many people, and equipment often serves its purpose for only a short time. As a persons condition worsens, expensive items gather dust. Back in Use offers a simple solution. We accept donations of computers, shower chairs, and walkers and give them to people free of charge. Our team is experienced in supporting people with disabilities and we are Microsoft Registered for refurbishing computer. We appreciate donations to help keep this cost-effective program collecting vital items and getting them Back in Use for people in need.

Services Provided: The Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization responsible for philanthropic giving to enhance the lives of special needs children and their families at Carrie Tingley Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation offers Arts & Athletics Beyond Limits program AABL including creative exploration in the Keshet Dance Company, Cloud Dancers therapeutic Horsemanship program, power wheelchair soccer and Zia Hot Shots wheelchair basketball team. The AABL Sports Programs are designed for young athletes or potential athletes who have an orthopedic, neurological or neuromuscular impairment such as, but not limited to, SCI, muscular dystrophy, osteogenesis imperfecta, amputation, TBI, rheumatoid arthritis, spina bifida or cerebral palsy. The AABL Program has been in existence since 1998. Scholarships are available. The program consists of:-Muthu Barry Junior Wheelchair Summer Sports Day Camp: Campers ages 8-18 receive structured instruction in archery, tennis, track and field, martial arts, indoor soccer, table-tennis, softball, hand-cycling and weight-lifting. Children with disabilities who do not use wheelchairs may also attend. For youth in power wheelchairs ages 6-20. Teams compete in regional and national competitions. Services Provided: New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Early Childhood Provides services for children age 0 to 3 who have a diagnosed visual impairment or who are considered to be at risk for receiving a visual impairment diagnosis in the state of New Mexico. Carrie Tingley Hospital is the only pediatric rehabilitation hospital in the state, housing a 24-bed inpatient unit in the Barbara and Bill Richardson Pavilion. We conduct more than 21 specialized clinics ranging in emphasis from brain and spinal cord injuries to development and neurological conditions to juvenile arthritis and clinical genetics. We also provide numerous therapy rooms, Gait labs, wheelchair evaluations, and braces or prosthetics. Children, particularly those with chronic conditions, need specialized healthcare focusing on their unique needs in a child-friendly place. Hospitalized children with chronic and often life-threatening diseases need quick, easy access to surgical and imaging services available at the Pavilion. And, this continuum of care extends to services available at UNM Children's Hospital, UNM Children's Psychiatric Center and UNM Hospital.

Services Provided: The Business Enterprise Program BEP provides employment opportunities for blind individuals who wish to operate food service facilities. The BEP has food establishments from small stands, to vending routes, to a full military cafeteria at Kirtland Air Force Base. The BEP provides the public and government employees with quality food service that is conveniently located within government buildings. Thirty-four blind persons participated in the BEP program and vendor earnings were $3,226,674, contributing $210,587 in gross receipt taxes to the state.
