Joy Junction is a 501(c)(3) faith-based church ministry that offers emergency and short-term essentials such as food, clothing, counseling, transportation, shelter to homeless men, women, children, and families throughout Albuquerque. They are committed to providing for the basic physical needs as well as the spiritual needs of the homeless. Joy Junction also collaborates with other nonprofit charitable organizations, which include Steelbridge, Albuquerque Opportunity Center, COAST and other rescue organizations/homeless shelters in town. Joy Junction provides assistance in the following ways: outreach ministry, homeless shelter (open 24/7/365), day shelter program, family assistance for the homeless and children's charity.

Family Promise of Albuquerque addresses the root causes of family homelessness. Family Promise of Albuquerque provides rental assistance, clothing and food assistance, case management and community-based approaches that keep families housed. Family Promise of Albuquerque has partnered with Family Promise National and Help Us Move In (HUMI) to assist families with rental assistance. 94 % of the people served in the shelter program secure housing within an average of ninety days. Community Initiatives include a wide array of programs. Some get to the heart of core needs, such as childcare and job training, families face in order to regain self-sufficiency.

The City of Albuquerque's Alamosa Center staff provides emergency food, utility assistance, and seasonal services and activities to residents of the Southwest Mesa (South Valley and Westside) areas of Albuquerque. Year-round services include TEFAP food boxes, emergency diapers, notary public, information and referrals to other collaborating agencies and utility and rental assistance (based on available funds). Seasonal services includes Toys for Tots, health fairs and community fairs.

Services that Bethel Community Storehouse provide include emergency food, clothing, housewares and furniture for qualified no or low-income clients. Individuals are eligible for Emergency Food Box up to 12 times in a 1 year period. The clothing allowance of $10 per household member every 6 months. Housewares/Furniture Allowance of $50 per household, a one time store credit for necessary household items. In terms of baby furniture, for 7 month pregnant parents a one time store credit of $25.00 towards necessary baby furniture.

Storehouse New Mexico is a community resource fighting hunger. It is a nonprofit community-based food pantry providing free groceries to needy people. Many families fall into a gap that is referred to as the ‘working poor.’ They earn too much to get SNAP (formerly food stamps), but a major car repair, medical bill, or reduced hours at work can have them wondering where their next meal might come from. The goal of Storehouse New Mexico is to help New Mexicans solve their food insecurities regardless of race, faith, age, gender, or disability.

Through USDA's summer meal programs, approved sites in communities across the country can serve meals to kids up to age 18 at no cost. Families can use this tool to find directions to nearby meal sites, as well as their hours of operation and contact information.
