DreamTree Project offers emergency teen shelter, a transitional home and resources for youth throughout northern New Mexico, including Colfax, Mora, Rio Arriba, Taos and Union counties. Our emergency teen shelter is open 24/7, to youth ages 12 to 17. DreamTree Project also has a transitional living program. For the emergency shelter, you can also text at 575-770-7704. They have casitas and apartments are available to residents ages 16-24 who do not have a safe place to stay. Their residents can stay for up to two years. Residents live independently in an apartment, while working and going to school. Taos NEST (Navigating Emergency Support Together) is a DreamTree Project–led initiative with the goal to assist community members in accessing emergency shelter and support services. The mission of NMDC is to provide a 360° strategic approach to address human trafficking in New Mexico through prevention activities, outreach to victims, services for survivors, and a support system for clients in their self-determination. NMDC offers a variety of services and drop-in shelters. These include The Harbour, Spoken For and The Lighthouse. At the Good Shepherd Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where hospitality is expressed to our homeless and less fortunate guests according to the goal of our founder, Brother Mathias: "Charity Unlimited" through addiction recovery, medical shelter, food, and clothing for those in need since 1951. They strive to serve, with respect and compassion, the most vulnerable in our community by providing sustainable resources, services, and programs that meet the most basic needs. Services that the Good Shepherd Center include housing reestablishment program, fresh start substance abuse recovery, overnight and temporary shelter for men, respite beds, daily meals, men's clothing distribution, mail services and referrals for other community services that are available.

Family Promise of Albuquerque addresses the root causes of family homelessness. Family Promise of Albuquerque provides rental assistance, clothing and food assistance, case management and community-based approaches that keep families housed. Family Promise of Albuquerque has partnered with Family Promise National and Help Us Move In (HUMI) to assist families with rental assistance. 94 % of the people served in the shelter program secure housing within an average of ninety days. Community Initiatives include a wide array of programs. Some get to the heart of core needs, such as childcare and job training, families face in order to regain self-sufficiency.

Barrett House Shelter is an emergency shelter for women and children experiencing homelessness. The Women’s Respite program serves women who have been in the hospital but would have no where else to go upon discharge. Barrett Foundation’s housing programs are designed to provide supportive housing and housing case management for homeless individuals and families. The housing programs operate under the Housing First model which is the philosophy that people experiencing homelessness must first meet their physical needs and the need for safety and security .People interested in participating in Barrett House Shelters housing programs must be referred through the New Mexico Coalition to End Homelessness, 505-217-9570. The Rapid Re-Housing housing programs is a rental assistance program for families who are currently experiencing homelessness and need help locating and obtaining housing. Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) consists of programs that help individuals and families who are currently experiencing homelessness to obtain and maintain stable housing. Barrett provides a limited number of motel vouchers to individuals and families.

Amistad Crisis Shelter is a short-term (14-30 days) program that provides residential services to youth, ages 12-17. The YDI Amistad Crisis Shelter operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and also offers a 24-hour hotline. It offers the following free services: short term residential shelter care, crisis intervention, assessment, counseling/therapy, recreational activities, life and social skills training, case management, educational/vocational assistance, job training skills and referral assistance. Amistad’s primary focus is to provide short term residential placement for runaway, homeless youth and youth experiencing a crisis necessitating short term shelter placement. Amistad’s primary goal is to support and reunite youth with their families. Aftercare services are also available once youth discharged from the program. The program has a 16-bed capacity.

Albuquerque Opportunity Center is a services campus that co-locates two programs: An Emergency Housing and Respite Care Program. Shared by the two programs on campus are an outdoor garden, computer lab, storage area, showers, laundry facilities, medical examination rooms, a library and a classroom area. The AOC Men’s Overnight Emergency Shelter has 71 beds that provide a safe environment for sleeping and daytime storage of belongings for up to 30 nights. The Respite Care Program has 30 beds on the AOC campus that provide 24-hour care to men recently released from the hospital, who do not have a home.

HopeWorks has multiple programs. These include the Hope Found, which was founded as a way to eliminate family homelessness in the greater Albuquerque area. They do this by coordinating rapid, affordable, and stable housing and supportive services for families that are experiencing homelessness. The Housing Division operates 11+ housing programs to meet the needs of clients. The HopeWorks Day Shelter provides a place for individuals experiencing homelessness to rest, receive meals, clothing, showers, storage, and more – all while obtaining supportive services and housing. In terms of behavioral health, HopeWorks employs multiple modalities that have been proven effective. Casa Esperanza assists individuals and families from every county in the state. Casa Esperanza is the oldest hospitality house in New Mexico, and the only full- service facility serving both adult and pediatric patients. They provide direct services to families which includes low-to-moderate income, medically underserved families traveling and staying in Albuquerque for medical treatment. They also provide resident families with access to lodging, food assistance, gas cards, and taxi vouchers, inhouse educational programs (e.g., legal/financial assistance), professionally facilitated clinical counseling and care management sessions, support groups, volunteer prepared meals, and organized social activities and educational programs.
