Services Provided: Provides grants of up to $250 to fund Assistive Technology that supports participation in functional life activities. Any New Mexican with a developmental disability may apply for a grant that meets the criteria for functional participation. The yearly funding cycle starts July 1 and ends June 30 of the next year. Funds are distributed each year on a first come, first serve basis until the funds are exhausted.

Services Provided: AAC Loan Bank offers SLPs Speech Language Pathologists the opportunity to borrow one or two devices, for 30 days, free of charge. These devices may be used during evaluations to assess for the appropriateness of features that match those of devices currently available from commercial vendors. Language encoding systems, voice output features and physical access to the device may be assessed with available devices. After this evaluation, a request may be made for the individual's insurance plan to pay for rental of the specific device recommended. Technical assistance is available from the SLP consultant to the Therapy Services Unit to determine which devices may be most appropriate for assessment purposes. Switch Evaluation Kit offers therapists a variety of switches and switch operated devices to assess an appropriate type of switch for an individual's use. This kit is for assessment purposes only and is free of charge. Adaptive Eating Equipment Loan Bank offers therapists an array of adapted utensils, dishes and drinking vessels for assessment purposes. Access to this equipment is free of charge.

Services Provided: Camp Fire USA is a not-for-profit youth development organization serving youth from birth to 21 years of age. We are inclusive, open to every person in the communities we serve, welcoming children, youth and adults regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation or other aspects of diversity. Camp Fire USA's programs are designed and implemented to reduce sex-role, racial and cultural stereotypes and to foster positive intercultural relationships. The New Mexico Council has provided school age child care since 1981. In addition, we provide programs that promote self-esteem, leadership skills, and character building.Well-trained staff are key to quality youth programming. The New Mexico Council strives to provide a work environment and a salary and benefit structure which attract high-quality individuals, promote staff longevity, encourage learning, and instill loyalty and commitment to positive youth development. Generally, we provide a 12 to 1 child to staff ratio in our school-age programs. Safety of your children is one of our major concerns. Our program offers access to all of our amenities spread across three sites, including our fully-operational barn and horsemanship classes, therapeutic pool, orchard, cold frame greenhouses, arts center Appaloosa Art Space, and organic garden.In addition to workshops and daily activities that take place on site, our Day Services program focuses on offering community access in which clients are able to form meaningful relationships in the community. Clients take part in service learning, fitness classes, visual arts projects, farmer's market sales, and extensive recreational activities that offer opportunities for building life skills and new experiences shopping, visiting restaurants, viewing work in local galleries, hosting community art events and workshops, exploring museums, etc..Mandy's Farm values the Employment First principle, and strongly values the belief that everyone can work. We see Day Services as an opportunity to identify individual's skills and interests in order to develop integrated work in the community. Many of our workshops and daily activities are designed to help pinpoint areas of strength and opportunities for growth.

Services Provided: This program provides parenting educational services, child developmental guidance and local community resource information to families with children prenatal to three in the home or alternative locations at the familys request. Prenatal home visits provide information on health, nutrition, preparing for the birth of the child and child development. Information is also provided on attachment and relationship with infants, breastfeeding, impact of alcohol, tobacco and drugs on pregnancy, seatbelt use, birth control after pregnancy, premature labor, oral heath for mother and infant, folic acid, weight control and diabetes. All pregnant women are screened for depression and domestic violence issues. Families of children birth to three receive child developmental screenings, observation of attachment behaviors between infant/toddler and parent/caregiver, administration of a social support index to assist families with identifying informal support networks and administration of the PICCOLO to assist families with establishing positive interactions with their infants or toddlers. Referrals are provided to community agencies/services as necessary.

Services Provided: Project Heart Start PHS is a program dedicated to teaching four lifesaving skills to all capable individuals in New Mexico. The skills are performing compression-only CPR COCPR, proper utilization of automated external defibrillators D, saving choking victims and recognizing the signs of a heart attack and learning how to respond. The mission is to create a sustainable program that can be presented by large groups of volunteers and trained responders to an organization on a recurring basis utilizing the train-the-trainer approach. Since our first program in 2011, we have been able to stay focused on our mission and have trained more than 140,000 New Mexicans.CPR classes are for the community, caregivers, and all New Mexicans.

Services Provided: Provides support and guidance to individuals, interdisciplinary teams IDT and families regarding safe and healthy eating or tube feeding. Any New Mexican with a developmental disability may be referred to this clinic. The multidisciplinary SAFE Clinic Team is comprised of a nutritionist, a physician, a physical therapist and speech-language pathologist. The team provides expertise in the areas of medical support, nutritional analysis, seating and positioning and oral-motor/swallowing function. Each clinic is designed to meet the needs of the referred individual. Recommendations are made for appropriate seating and positioning, eating/feeding techniques, adapted eating equipment, nutritional support and medical support.

Services Provided: PB&J provides early intervention, parenting education, therapeutic preschool, intensive therapeutic counseling, support, prevention, and case management services to at risk children and families. Transportation is also provided to center and home based programs. PB&J provides a continuum of wraparound services based on family needs.Two therapeutic classrooms, staffed with at least two Family Intervention Specialists, licensed clinicians including Master's Level Counselors and Social Workers, Art and Play Therapists and Nursing services including a Family Nurse Practitioner. This PB & J Therapeutic Preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children NYC. Children, birth to age five, and their parents attend class two hours a day, four days a week. Sessions focus on hands-on parenting, developmental, and behavioral issues.

Services Provided: Cardiac care services include diagnostics such as stress tests, echocardiograms, nuclear imaging of the heart as well as treatment for congestive heart failure. Cardiac catheterization inserts a small catheter into an artery or vein and passes into the heart under X-ray guidance. Medical procedures performed by heart specialists at the Cardiac Cath Lab include angioplasty and arterial stenting.
