Description: Mutual support groups whose members are individuals who have a substance use disorder or any of a number of behavioral addictions which are akin to substance-related disorders in clinical expression, brain origin, comorbidity, physiology and treatment. The groups meet in-person, by telephone or via the Internet; provide emotional support, information and resources to help those who participate modify their behavior; and may include faith-based and secular 12-step groups as well as non-12 step groups. Services Provided: Crossroads for Women provides housing and intensive support services for homeless women with co-occurring mental and addictive disorders working towards self-sufficiency. The agency operates two programs. Mayas Place is a six month congregate living site for homeless women exiting jail or prison. The Crossroads is a two year program utilizing scattered site housing for homeless women cycling between homelessness and incarceration and their children. Services Provided: MVCHS provides a full range of outpatient primary medical services including acute and chronic care. Although we are not an urgent care facility, emergency service is available for a wide range of procedures when the need is present. Basic laboratory testing is also available at the clinic and we have a basic pharmacy serving those who are unable to afford their medications. We provide physical examinations for employment and insurance requirements. Specialized services such as OB/GYN and diagnostic x-ray are available through referrals to providers in Las Vegas and other areas.MVCHS offers behavioral health services through group and individual therapy sessions.
