Services Provided: Casa Milagro provides transitional housing services in a single site residential care facility for women 35 or older with chronic mental illness. The 18-month program provides extensive case management designed to help them learn healthy lifestyles, including exercise, good nutrition, and adherence to medical and drug therapies.After a professional assessment, each woman helps develop her own individual treatment plan and goals. Services are designed to increase the residents independent living skills, while connecting them to appropriate community resources. The women also participate in group, individual, and art therapy.Upon graduation, they are encouraged to participate in AfterCare, a Barrett Foundation support program created to ease the transition into independent living. More than 80% of the graduates are able to live independently, and graduates are eligible to move into Casa Verde.

Services Provided: Our mission is: Nourishing bodies and spirits of the homebound with balanced meals and friendship. Our meals are prepared and delivered by caring staff and volunteers to individuals of any age or disability, in order to help them retain their independence and improve their quality of life." We prepare seven different types of diets daily, each designed for the clients medical needs. All meals are low in salt, sodium, and fat. Our meals consist of a hot entree, a vegetable, a starch, milk or juice, bread, salad, and either fruit or a dessert. A nutritionist works closely with the program to ensure that special diets served are appropriate for the needs of the clients.

Services Provided: This program provides parenting educational services, child developmental guidance and local community resource information to families with children prenatal to three in the home or alternative locations at the familys request. Prenatal home visits provide information on health, nutrition, preparing for the birth of the child and child development. Information is also provided on attachment and relationship with infants, breastfeeding, impact of alcohol, tobacco and drugs on pregnancy, seatbelt use, birth control after pregnancy, premature labor, oral heath for mother and infant, folic acid, weight control and diabetes. All pregnant women are screened for depression and domestic violence issues. Families of children birth to three receive child developmental screenings, observation of attachment behaviors between infant/toddler and parent/caregiver, administration of a social support index to assist families with identifying informal support networks and administration of the PICCOLO to assist families with establishing positive interactions with their infants or toddlers. Referrals are provided to community agencies/services as necessary.

Roadrunner Food Bank, a Feeding America member, is the largest non-profit dedicated to solving hunger in New Mexico and operates warehouses in Albuquerque and Las Cruces. Last year, the Food Bank distributed more than 30 million pounds of food through its own programs, a statewide network of partner agencies, and regional food banks helping 70,000 children and adults weekly. Services Provided: PB&J provides early intervention, parenting education, therapeutic preschool, intensive therapeutic counseling, support, prevention, and case management services to at risk children and families. Transportation is also provided to center and home based programs. PB&J provides a continuum of wraparound services based on family needs.Two therapeutic classrooms, staffed with at least two Family Intervention Specialists, licensed clinicians including Master's Level Counselors and Social Workers, Art and Play Therapists and Nursing services including a Family Nurse Practitioner. This PB & J Therapeutic Preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children NYC. Children, birth to age five, and their parents attend class two hours a day, four days a week. Sessions focus on hands-on parenting, developmental, and behavioral issues.

It began as the Eddy County Community Action Corporation. Currently, programs are provided in Eddy, Otero, Chaves, Lea and Lincoln Counties. Services Provided: Child Develoment Division-Head Start Program-serves approximately 555 children, birth to five years of age, in five counties of southern New Mexico Hidalgo, Luna, Dona Ana, Otero and Sierra. Comprehensive child development and family services are provided through the Head Start Program which is currently funded for 277 children. Services Provided: Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico CAASNM has been working nearly five decades to lift Southern New Mexicans out of poverty through high-impact programs that build self-reliance. Our mission is building self-reliance for low-income New Mexicans by connecting our community to high-impact programs that encourage family wellness, empower families and bridge resources.
