Professional therapeutic counseling offered on a sliding fee scale for individuals, couples, and families. The housing program helps the homeless find permanent housing. It ensures that a broad range of comprehensive and integrated services is provided to homeless families and individuals and families who have been recently evicted from their homes. Courthouse advocacy project provides rental assistance to families facing court-ordered eviction. Self-help housing in Valencia county provides case management support to habitat for humanity. Proyecto La Luz provides transitional housing, parent education, employment, and case management for homeless women and children. Family education offers English as a second language ESL, GED, family literacy, early head start, child care, and vocational training.

Services Provided: The mission of Albuquerque Housing is to preserve the quality of housing owned and occupied by low and moderate-income families and to continue to expand and revitalize older neighborhoods within the City, Albuquerque Housing Services provides perpetual deferred loans and low interest loans to qualified low and moderate-income homeowners. The loans are made for the purpose of rehabilitating residential properties. Family income and family size determine the type of loan a person may qualify to receive. The money you receive must be used to pay for rehabilitation costs. These costs include: Labor and materials used to rehab your property and bring it up to City Code. The loan processing includes title search, insurance, appraisals, surveys and recording fees. The loan money cannot be used to pay for minor or cosmetic repairs or property taxes.

Services Provided: Ronald McDonald House provides lodging for out of town families who have children under active medical care in Albuquerque. A donation of $15 a night is requested, plus a refundable $5 key deposit. Families stay in rooms with private bathrooms. There are free laundry facilities, large communal kitchens, indoor and outdoor play areas and several sitting areas for guest comfort. Rooms are assigned on a first-come first-served basis with no reservations.

Services Provided: The Emergency Food and Shelter Program EFSP supplements and expands the work of local social service agencies to help people with economic not disaster-related emergencies. In San Juan County, a Local Board governs the EFSP. During fiscal year 2007-2008, funding will help to provide more than 1,236 meals in mass feeding at the Daily Bread, provide nutritious food supplement through Catholic Charities and food at the Foodbank, over 5,900 nights of shelter, and over hundreds of families can be helped with rent and utility assistance.

Services Provided: Family Services Division-Child and Adult Care Food Program CACFP- Reimbursement for family child care providers for providing nutritious meals and snacks to the children for whom they care.Compassion Capital Funding- Bienvenidos Building Bridges Initiative-Support faith-based and community-based non-profit organizations in New Mexico in order to increase their capacity and their efforts to work with families and individuals in the providing community based social services. VISTA AmeriCorps statewide sponsor site with the goal of utilizing both young adults and retired individuals to working as full-time volunteers on those programs we administer.Work Force Development Division-CSBG program provides states and Indian Tribes with funds to lessen poverty in communities. The funds provide a range of services and activities to assist the needs of low-income individuals including the homeless, migrants and the elderly. Workforce Investment Act WIA-the WIA-Youth Program HELP-NM serves youth age 14-21 in twelve counties throughout New MexicoNational Farmworkers Jobs Program NFJP-Assist migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families attain greater economic stability. HELP-NM offers the NFJP through its regional offices for the entire State of New Mexico.Child Develoment Division-Head Start Program-serves approximately 555 children, birth to five years of age, in five counties of southern New Mexico Hidalgo, Luna, Dona Ana, Otero and Sierra. Comprehensive child development and family services are provided through the Head Start Program which is currently funded for 277 children. CYFD NM State Pre-K -224 additional preschool children, CYFD State/TANF Extended Head Start, State Funded Child Care Assistance Bureau and Private Pay funds the Infant/Toddler Program in Deming and Lordsburg, as well as provides extended care to preschoolers in Alamogordo and Deming.
