Programs that provide rehabilitation and/or habilitation services. Rehabilitation services involve a combination of treatment and education services which are designed to restore maximum functioning, a sense of wellbeing and a personally satisfying level of independence for individuals who have temporary or permanent disabilities. Habilitation services involve a combination of treatment and education services which are designed to either increase or maintain the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social functioning of individuals who have not reached age-appropriate developmental milestones. ExplorAbilities provides Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy to adults and children of all ages and Developmental Rehabilitation services,
such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language therapy to children birth to age 21. ExplorAbilities is a Medicare Certified
facility and is licensed by the NM Dept. of Health.

Services Provided:

UNM Health’s Carrie Tingley Hospital (CTH) has provided coordinated health care to children and adolescents with complex musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions for more than 70 years. CTH focuses on specialized outpatient care for children in New Mexico. Additionally, CTH provides rehabilitation needs for developmental issues and long-term physical disabilities. The UNM Carrie Tingley Hospital is the state’s only pediatric rehabilitative hospital and today serves thousands of children each year with many types of illnesses and disabling conditions.
