Services Provided: Provides grants of up to $250 to fund Assistive Technology that supports participation in functional life activities. Any New Mexican with a developmental disability may apply for a grant that meets the criteria for functional participation. The yearly funding cycle starts July 1 and ends June 30 of the next year. Services Provided: AAC Loan Bank offers SLPs Speech Language Pathologists the opportunity to borrow one or two devices, for 30 days, free of charge. These devices may be used during evaluations to assess for the appropriateness of features that match those of devices currently available from commercial vendors. Language encoding systems, voice output features and physical access to the device may be assessed with available devices. After this evaluation, a request may be made for the individual's insurance plan to pay for rental of the specific device recommended. Technical assistance is available from the SLP consultant to the Therapy Services Unit to determine which devices may be most appropriate for assessment purposes. Switch Evaluation Kit offers therapists a variety of switches and switch operated devices to assess an appropriate type of switch for an individual's use. This kit is for assessment purposes only and is free of charge. Adaptive Eating Equipment Loan Bank offers therapists an array of adapted utensils, dishes and drinking vessels for assessment purposes. Access to this equipment is free of charge.

Services Provided: Carrie Tingley Hospital is the only pediatric rehabilitation hospital in the state, housing a 24-bed inpatient unit in the Barbara and Bill Richardson Pavilion. We conduct more than 21 specialized clinics ranging in emphasis from brain and spinal cord injuries to development and neurological conditions to juvenile arthritis and clinical genetics. We also provide numerous therapy rooms, Gait labs, wheelchair evaluations, and braces or prosthetics.Children, particularly those with chronic conditions, need specialized healthcare focusing on their unique needs in a child-friendly place. Hospitalized children with chronic and often life-threatening diseases need quick, easy access to surgical and imaging services available at the Pavilion. And, this continuum of care extends to services available at UNM Children's Hospital, UNM Children's Psychiatric Center and UNM Hospital.

Services Provided: Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Service, Inc. is a not-for-profit Home Health and Hospice Agency providing "intermittent" Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Pathology, Medical Social Services and Home Health Aides.The same services are available through our Branch office, Los Rios Home Health Care. Currently, we serve patients in Los Alamos County, northern Santa Fe County, and parts of Rio Arriba County.Services are provided under written physician orders in your home, under a plan of care developed to meet your individual needs. Visits are routinely scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 and 5 and on weekends as medically necessary.
