Services Provided:

Region 9 Developmental Services Program provides comprehensive developmental/early intervention activities that benefit the families and children from birth through age three who have or may be at risk for developmental delays. Some options of this program include family counseling and education; health services; Child Find and screening services; assessment and evaluation services; special instruction provided by developmental specialists; nutritional consultation; occupational, physical, speech, and language therapy; transportation; family service coordination; and respite care services. An Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) is developed for each child/family based upon determined needs.

During your child's last phase of a terminal illness, time and comfort become even more precious. UNM Children's Hospital is your partner during this difficult time. We provide in-home hospice care for your child's discomfort as well as emotional support for your family through our Mariposa Program. For families across New Mexico, our pediatric hospice professionals and caring, trained volunteers provide medical care, respite services, and grief counseling support.

State General Funded Services
The Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) provides an array of services that are available to children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their families. Funds are available based on Legislative appropriation from the State General Funds. There may be waiting lists for these services due to the limited availability of these funds. SGF services are available to individuals who are not currently served through one of the Medicaid Waiver Programs (Developmental Disabilities Waiver, Mi Via Waiver, Medically Fragile Waiver).

Services
DDSD has provider agreements in place statewide with provider agencies for the following services:

Respite Services
Respite is a flexible family support service that provides short term, temporary care to people with disabilities or children or adults with intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This service allows families to take a break from the daily routine of care giving.

Residential Services
The Residential Services available under the State General Fund include ‘Supported Living’ and ‘Independent Living’ and are available to adults, age 22 or older, with an intellectual or Developmental Disability.

Day Services
Day Services available through the State General Fund include both ‘Supported Employment ‘and ‘Day Services’. These services are available to adults age 22 or older, who have an Intellectual / Developmental Disability (IDD) Day services include supporting the individual with IDD to engage in purposeful work, learning, skill development, or community inclusion activities that are directly linked to their Individual Service Plan (ISP).

Family Infant Toddler Early Intervention (FIT)

Respite Care
Respite is a service to families who are in need of a short break from their natural caregiving duties of a child or an adult who is diagnosed with a developmental delay or disability.

Family Living Program
The Family Living Program provides support to adults diagnosed with a developmental delay or disability to remain living in their own home, their family home, or a surrogate home.
