Services Provided: The Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Prevention Project was established in 1996. The New Mexico Strategic Plan for Disability Prevention recognized the need for a Statewide Lead Agency to coordinate the FAS/ARBD prevention efforts in New Mexico. This coordination includes, public education campaigns, community projects, social change and advocacy efforts at multiple levels of intervention. The program is funded by the Disability and Health Program, New Mexico Department of Health.

Services Provided:

Provides grants of up to $250 to fund Assistive Technology that supports participation in functional life activities. Any New Mexican with a developmental disability may apply for a grant that meets the criteria for functional participation. The yearly funding cycle starts July 1 and ends June 30 of the next year. Funds are distributed each year on a first come, first serve basis until the funds are exhausted.
